(SB Nation) – In a recent profile piece in the Chicago Journal, fans were treated with a look into the life of Jimmy Butler. The aspect of his life that stands out the most is this: “he loathes reliving the past—so much so that he has removed the rearview mirror on his car (yes, really) as a symbolic reminder to never look back.”
Yes, I know. I made this blog for real insight and talk about real sports issues and events. But every so often, there’s a story that makes me laugh out loud. When that story comes along, I’m going to want to talk about it.
Lots of things going on with this story, but mainly the fact that Butler is THAT literal of a person that he legit took the rear view mirror out of his car just so he wouldn’t meddle in the past. C’mon man, I don’t “look back in my life” when I look to see if there is a car behind me before I pass.
An underrated part about this whole story is that SBNation looked into it and in Illinois, a rearview mirror is not mandated by the state. Chicago is just crazy right now. You got the Cubs down 2-0, Patrick Kane’s case still up in the air, and Jimmy Butler unnecessarily removing mirrors. What a world we live in.
After deeply analyzing this important story, I think we can conclude that Butler’s mind definitely wonders while he is in the car. This poor man needs an AUX cord to play some music and to stop thinking about life.
